2023 STAMPED Film Festival
The Stamped Film Festival is coming soon! From September 28th to October 1st, come out to the Pensacola Little Theatre to celebrate the artistic contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) films and filmmakers. The festival began in 2012 and strives to foster a more inclusive local community. In fact, its current name, Stamped, is a throwback to the mid-1990s when LGBTQ visitors would “stamp” their money so that local officials and business owners would know the extent of the LGBTQ+ community’s economic impact.
Stamped is a multi-day festival that provides educational outreach to the Gulf Coast region. The festival is a celebration, acknowledgment, and remembrance for those in the community. There will be awards and prizes. The festival is free to attend, and offers a family-focused day that is acceptable for all ages. Pensacola Para Con 2023
The Pensacola Para Con is happening September 23-24 at the Pensacola Expo Hall. This annual event salutes sci-fi, paranormal, horror, metaphysical, and pop culture. There will be celebrity meet and greets, discussion panels, and ghost hunts! Yes, ghosts. It’s truly fitting that the celebrity guests are Chris Smith and Mike Concalves of the Tennessee Wraith Chasers, hosts of the Travel Channel’s Haunted Towns. There will also be vendors, artists, metaphysical guests, psychic readers, and a costume contest.

Little Village Conch Festival
The second annual Little Village Conch Festival is happening on September 30th! Come out to Little Village in Panama City for a day of family fun in the sun. There will be a plethora of Conch Shell festivities including the Cap’n Scuba Memorial Conch Shell Blowing Contest, The Queen of Conch, an all-age Conch Shell Blowing Contest, live music, kids arts & crafts, and more! Finns restaurant will have a Conch Special for one-day only. Live music will be provided by local talents Tyler James & The Momeuxs (noon-3pm) AND The Gr8tful Dads (6-9pm). Emerald Coast Native Plant Fair
Paradise Plants and Palms is excited to announce that they’re hosting the first-ever Emerald Coast Native Plant Fair! Join them on September 16th from 10am – 4pm EDT. The Fair will be a celebration of all things Florida Native Plants and conservation. There will be a variety of conservation groups, local artisans, native plant sellers/nurseries, and arts-n-crafts vendors. There will also be a food truck!

Mid-South Harbor Farmers Market is hosting their monthly Farm, Garden, Craft & Animal Swap next Saturday, September 9th from 8AM – 2PM. This is a FREE event for both vendors and the community. Tallahassee Film Festival 2023
The 15th annual Tallahassee Film Festival is happening September 2-3 at multiple venues downtown and in the Railroad Square arts district. The event will feature over 70 films and scores, over 40 shorts, and a dozen feature films. The fest has partnered with Sunshine State Biodiversity for a curated short film program titled ‘Environment in Focus.’ Visitors can purchase a weekend pass OR tickets for individual screenings. FL Scallop, Music, & Arts Festival
Celebrate Labor Day weekend by feasting on freshly harvested St. Joseph’s Bay scallops with the ambiance of two days of live music. The Florida Scallop, Music, and Arts Festival is happening September 2-3 at George Core Park.
The festival lineup includes John Del Toro Richardson, Memphis Lightning, the Bo Spring Band, Damon Fowler, and more! The festival kicks off the Port St. Joe scallop season which runs from August 16 through September 24. If you have a fishing license, you can dive for your own dinner! Make sure to bring your mask, snorkeling gear, and eagle eyes because most finds are hidden in seagrasses in four to six feet of water.

Taco & Tequila Fest
The annual Jax Taco and Tequila Fest is coming soon! From September 2-3, visit the Metropolitan Park from 3-11pm. The annual event is most famous for its Grand Sampling Experience which includes over 40 craft tequila distillers pouring samples twice each day. Is Tequila not to your taste? The Fest includes two days of live music headlined by Big Boi, Gym Class Heroes, Iration, and Lupe Fiasco. There will also be immersive art performances, complimentary dance lessons, cultural music, and a silent disco party featuring dueling DJS and an immersive light experience. And, of course, tacos!
