The 8th annual Freeport Bayfest is coming soon! On November 6th from 10am-6pm, the family-friendly festival will be taking place at Hammock Trl E in Freeport. Admission to the event is FREE but as there will be a number of vendors, festival-goers should come prepared with cash and card. Bayfest will also feature live entertainment, a cooking contest, jeep show, children’s art contest, pony rides, mullet toss, corn hole, and more! The event will begin at 10am with a Ribbon Cutting by Miss Freeport Queens. The cook-off will begin at 11am. The mullet toss will take place at 3pm.

Today is National American Beer Day! Celebrate by visiting a local brewery. This is an annual event designed to help celebrate domestic lagers and ales brewed across the United States.
McKenzie Park is hosting a Family Movie Night this Friday, October 28th. The Halloween classic, Hocus Pocus, will start playing at 7pm. Viewers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, and drinks (alcohol not allowed). There will be snacks available for purchase and the proceeds will go to support the local Girl Scout troop. Donations will also be accepted. Please note that the event itself is FREE.
Historic Downtown Panama City is hosting a Fall Fest on October 29th. The festival will run from 8am to 9pm and include a day packed with family fun. There will be games, candy, and spooky surprises for all ages! The schedule is as follows:
Frink Baptist Church is hosting a Fall Festival on October 22nd from 4-7pm. There will be a chili cookout, music, a bounce house, candy apples, a hayride, and more! The Chautauqua Winery’s Harvest Festival is coming to DeFuniak Springs this Saturday, October 15th. Admission is free to this family-friendly event. The festival will run from 9am-5pm. There will be arts & crafts, live entertainment, and a complimentary wine tasting. The wine tasting features the entirety of the Winery’s collection as well as non-alcoholic muscadine juices for those who can’t or don’t drink. Wine will also be available for purchase by the case, bottle, or glass. 
There will be a Peanut Butter drive this month in Blountstown and surrounding areas. Peanut Butter FIGHTS Hunger! With the support of the Florida Peanut Producers Association and Florida Peanut Federation, the UF|IFAS Calhoun County Extension Office is collecting unopened jars of peanut butter. All donations will go to local food pantries to help feed families in need. Drop-offs are accepted Monday through Friday from 8 AM – 4:00 PM. The drop-off is located at 20816 Central Ave. East, Blountstown, FL 32424. The support of the community is appreciated!
