Today is the last day of the Right Whale Festival in Fernandina Beach. Come down to Main Beach Park (32 N. Fletcher Ave) from 10am to 3pm to participate in this annual festival. Right Whale is part of a regional effort to educate the public on the endangered North Atlantic right whales. They give birth and nurse their young in the warmer waters offered by the coast of northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. Sadly, there are fewer than 350 right whales remaining. The festival advocates for and educates on the protection of the species from extinction. There will be whale-themed activities, marine exhibits, live music, arts and craft vendors, kids’ activities, a beach clean-up, food, and more! The event is FREE for all ages. Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival
The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival is coming to Pensacola. From today until November 6th, there will be a free art show featuring over 200 artisans and craftsmen taking place in Seville Square. The event will also feature live music as well as a Children’s Art Festival. The Children’s Festival includes hands-on art activities and a Student Art Show. It will run on Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 4pm. The Arts Festival will be open from 9am – 5pm today and tomorrow; on Sunday it will run from 9am – 4pm. Foo Foo Festival’s Bubble Alley
Today was the first day of the Foo Foo Festival’s Bubble Alley. Bubble Alley is a free public art exhibit that will be on display from November 3-14. The display features thousands of reusable vinyl bubbles suspended above Intendencia Street. Bubble Alley is brought to the public by the Friends of Downtown Pensacola. The exhibit will be walkable from the downtown shops, bars, galleries, and restaurants. Learn more by visiting the official event website.
Freeport Bayfest
The 8th annual Freeport Bayfest is coming soon! On November 6th from 10am-6pm, the family-friendly festival will be taking place at Hammock Trl E in Freeport. Admission to the event is FREE but as there will be a number of vendors, festival-goers should come prepared with cash and card. Bayfest will also feature live entertainment, a cooking contest, jeep show, children’s art contest, pony rides, mullet toss, corn hole, and more! The event will begin at 10am with a Ribbon Cutting by Miss Freeport Queens. The cook-off will begin at 11am. The mullet toss will take place at 3pm.

Frink Baptist Church is hosting a Fall Festival on October 22nd from 4-7pm. There will be a chili cookout, music, a bounce house, candy apples, a hayride, and more! National Coffee Day 2022
Today is National Coffee Day! The exact date of its origin is unknown, however, it is believed to have first been celebrated in Japan circa 1983. The celebration was then introduced to the United State in 2005. It is celebrated annually on September 29th. This annual celebration should not be confused with International Coffee Day which was first celebrated on October 1, 2015.

Jackson County Gardening Assistance
There is going to be a series of talks held at the Jackson County Agriculture Center in Mariana (2741 Penn Avenue). This will be a huge benefit to gardeners in Jackson County who wish to grow their own food. The first focuses on Companion Planting and will be held Wednesday, September 14th from 10-11:30am. It will cost $5 per person. There is no pre-registration required. However, you can call to reserve a spot to guarantee your spot; call 850-482-9620 to get your name on the list.
The second class focuses on Fall Gardening. It will be held on Saturday, September 17th from 9am – noon. Participants will get to take home a variety of seeds. This class will cost $15 per person.
The third class focuses on Garden to Table: Herbs. It will be held Tuesday, September 27th from 6-8pm. This event costs $15 per person. Participants will receive a small planter of herbs and a sample jar of dried herbs to take home. Additionally, they will have the change to taste several ways to use herbs in cooking during the class.
Soaring out of Summer Celebration
Join the Calhoun/Liberty Community Health Partners tomorrow at Foxtrot 95 Calhoun County Airport for the Soaring out of Summer Celebration. The event starts at 10 am and aims to bring awareness to the Florida Department of Health’s SNAP-ED program and other important local resources. The celebration will host hot air balloon rides, sports activities, bounce houses, yard games, food trucks, live music, a fruit & vegetable stand, and local resource vendors. Admission is FREE so bring out the whole family for a day of fun and education!

Wetlands Nature Hike in Jacksonville
Clay County Parks and Recreation is hosting a wetland tour Saturday, July 16th. The tour will be guided by one of the Camp Chowenwaw Park naturalists. They will give information on Clay County’s wetlands ecosystem. The wetland tour will take place at Camp Chowenwaw Park at 1517 Ball Road, Green Cove Springs. Everyone will meet at 9:30 am by the picnic area to the left of Big Cabin. Bug spray, water, and closed-toe shoes are highly recommended. Registration is REQUIRED and free!
