Little Village Conch Festival

The second annual Little Village Conch Festival is happening on September 30th! Come out to Little Village in Panama City for a day of family fun in the sun. There will be a plethora of Conch Shell festivities including the Cap’n Scuba Memorial Conch Shell Blowing Contest, The Queen of Conch, an all-age Conch Shell Blowing Contest, live music, kids arts & crafts, and more! Finns restaurant will have a Conch Special for one-day only. Live music will be provided by local talents Tyler James & The Momeuxs (noon-3pm) AND The Gr8tful Dads (6-9pm). Tallahassee Film Festival 2023

The 15th annual Tallahassee Film Festival is happening September 2-3 at multiple venues downtown and in the Railroad Square arts district. The event will feature over 70 films and scores, over 40 shorts, and a dozen feature films. The fest has partnered with Sunshine State Biodiversity for a curated short film program titled ‘Environment in Focus.’ Visitors can purchase a weekend pass OR tickets for individual screenings. Skimboarding Tournament

Come out to Vilano Beach for two full days of skim-boarding heats (Aug. 19-20th). The Florida Skimboarding Pro/Am is the third-longest-running tournament in the world! Some of the world’s best skimboarders come out to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean’s surface during this event. Athletes from more than 75 different beaches from all over Florida, the USA, and the world come for the Florida Pro/Aam. Don’t Miss Beyond Van Gogh

Beyond Van Gogh is coming to Pensacola this August! From August 5th to September 9th, visit Building 6 at the Pensacola Interstate Fair to immerse yourself in the world of Van Gogh. More than 300 of his works will be projected during this limited exhibit; the art will be rendered in more than 4 trillion pixels over 30,000 square feet of exhibit space. The exhibit will be truly immersive, spanning the floors and ceilings. The works are not simply rendered copies of the still paintings but living art, bending and moving to capture the life Van Gogh impeded in his works. Bluegrass Festival & Chili Cookoff

The Florida State Bluegrass Festival & Chili Cookoff is coming to the charming small town of Perry (March 31 – April 1). This is one of the biggest events of the year for the town, bringing in thousands of tourists. There will be live music, a chili cookoff, free Moon Pies, a kids’ zone, crafts, and more! The music lineup includes Rhonda Vincent, Appalachian Road Show, Kenny Stinson, The Tim Shelton Sydicate, David Adkins, and Rekindled Grass. A two-day pass will be $40.00 in advance (via online purchase) or $45.00 at the gate. A one-day pass for Friday costs $20.00 while a Saturday pass is $30.00. African-American History Festival

Coming soon to Apalachicola – the 20th Annual African History Festival hosted in Franklin Square! From February 17-19th, the Hillside Coalition of Laborers for Apalachicola (H’COLA) will be celebrating Black History Month with the annual festival. H’COLA was founded to support the community, and their festival helps celebrate local African-American history along the Gulf Coast. They invite locals and visitors to enjoy this family-friendly event. The event will feature live entertainment, artists, craftsmen, vendors, children’s activities, history, education, health, and wellness. 

 

Mardi Gras in Panama City Beach

Panama City Beach is hosting the annual Mardi Gras Music Festival today and tomorrow. Visit Pier Park to enjoy this two-day family-friendly festival. There will be parades, Cajun cooking, a 5L, live music, and fireworks. Today is the kid-friendly Second Line Parade. Tomorrow, the festivities start with the 5K fun run followed by the Krewe of Dominique Youx-lead parade. Foo Foo Festival’s Bubble Alley

Today was the first day of the Foo Foo Festival’s Bubble Alley. Bubble Alley is a free public art exhibit that will be on display from November 3-14. The display features thousands of reusable vinyl bubbles suspended above Intendencia Street. Bubble Alley is brought to the public by the Friends of Downtown Pensacola. The exhibit will be walkable from the downtown shops, bars, galleries, and restaurants. Learn more by visiting the official event website.

Family Movie Night

McKenzie Park is hosting a Family Movie Night this Friday, October 28th. The Halloween classic, Hocus Pocus, will start playing at 7pm. Viewers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, and drinks (alcohol not allowed). There will be snacks available for purchase and the proceeds will go to support the local Girl Scout troop. Donations will also be accepted. Please note that the event itself is FREE.

Hocus Pocus Trivia Night

Milk and Honey Soft Serve & Coffee Shop will be hosting a Hocus Pocus Trivia Night. The questions will cover both the classic 90s Hocus Pocus as well as Hocus Pocus 2 (now streaming on Disney+). The trivia night will take place on Tuesday, October 25 at 7 pm!
