Reagan Jam

The 16th Annual Reagan Jam Session is scheduled for today from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The event is free and will be held at Madison Street Park. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Penello’s Italian Food Truck.

Pensacola Winterfest

The annual Pensacola Winterfest has experienced another successful year. This year there were four live-action tour options for the train rides: Polar Express, Cajun Christmas, Grinch, and Scrooge. The tour starts with a pre-tour performance on the courthouse steps before boarding the open-air trams for the journey through town. Each adventure includes special guests — Papa Noel, Jacob Marley, the Cat in the Hat — along with musical performances, live readings, and other entertainment. Additionally, Santa and his sleigh will be downtown each evening for family photos.

The Pensacola Winterfest is holding its last day of events tomorrow so be sure to visit the Winterfest website to buy tickets or find a detailed itinerary of the available events. 

Ice and Lights

Dothan Leisure Services is once again bringing Dothan and surrounding areas Ice & Lights (located at 171 N. Foster St.) this year! Ice skating is available for $10/person (includes the skate rental) all week long as listed: Tuesday – Thursday, 10 AM – 9 PM; Friday, 10 AM – 10 PM; Saturday, 9 AM – 10 PM; Sunday, 1 PM – 8 PM.

Additionally, there will be a themed special event tomorrow, December 21st. The hours are still 10 AM – 9 PM but there will be special events occurring in the evening. At 5 PM, Frozen characters will be onsite for photos and fun. Then, at 6 PM, Frozen the movie will play in Porter Park.

Cookies with Santa

The Sneads Assembly of God (located at 2062 River Road) is hosting a free, kid-friendly holiday event this afternoon. From 4-6 PM CST, there will be cookies and cocoa for the kids. There will be an opportunity to take pictures with Santa, and he will also be reading the true Christmas story will be read by Santa. Pajamas are encouraged!

Lynn Haven House Light Show

David Price’s annual house light show is up and running! Located at 1306 Vermont Avenue in Lynn Haven, the light show is synced to the 104.9 FM radio station. The show will run nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. until early January.

This year’s theme is Disney, with Price reporting that he has added about 18,000 more lights, 12 new control panels, five spotlights, and increased one of the mega-trees by ten feet! The show is about 20mins long with a message that “Everybody can have a better life, you just have to put your heart into it. It’s okay to have friends help you along the way. It’s looking forward to a better future within yourself. set goals and achieve these goals,” as Price said.

For the second year in a row, Price is partnering with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office to collect unwrapped toys for Project 25. They’re also collecting non-perishable food items to benefit Angels Pantry. 100% of everything collected goes back into Bay County and it can be brought when you come to visit the show. 

Bennett Christmas Light Show

A local family is hosting a Christmas light show set to music. Directions: head towards Marianna from Altha on Highway 71 and turn down Sam Duncan Road. Tune into the 103.7 radio station after you pass Altha Co-op Road to hear the sounds of the show. The light show is 13minutes long and runs all week. You can turn down SAM DUNCAN road and watch a 13-minute show. Sunday-Thursday the show runs from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm. Friday-Saturday the show will run for an extra hour, ending at 10:30 pm.

 

Jazz for Justice: Foo Foo Festival

The annual Foo Foo Festival is reaching its conclusion! Tomorrow is the annual concert fundraiser, Jazz for Justice. This annual concert fundraiser will help close out Foo Foo Festival; funds raised will go to LSNF (Legal Services of North Florida). The event will feature jazz artists Tuba Skinny and the New Breed Brass Band. Come down to Seville Quarter to enjoy live music for free from 1-7 p.m. tomorrow!

Super Girl Surf Pro Contest & Festival

Tomorrow is the first day of the Super Girl Surf Pro Contest & Festival! This is a three-day festival that celebrates women’s action sports while focusing on female empowerment through social, athletic, cultural, and business opportunities.

The surf contest will be held at the Jacksonville Beach pier. The Festival Village at the Sea Walk Pavilion will be occurring simultaneously. The Village will feature live music, family-friendly activities, an ALL-FEMALE DJ competition, women’s beach soccer, women’s volleyball tournaments, free fitness/dance classes, and celebrity speakers. Additionally, there will be a beer garden and the possibility to get autographs from pro surfers. The best part is that all activities are FREE. Stamped Film Festival: Foo Foo Festival

From November 12-14th, Foo Foo Festival is hosting the Stamped Film Festival at the Pensacola Cultural Center. Starting at 5 p.m. on November 12th and ending with a family day on November 14th, this event focuses on LBGTQ films and creators. The highly vetted films will feature content that can vary from PG-Mature with the aforementioned ‘Family Day’ on November 14th. “Family Day” includes films that are suitable for all ages, a series of children’s activities from face painting, balloon art, and kids snacks.

Great Gulfcoast Art Festival

Today is the last day to score one-of-a-kind holiday gifts at the annual Great Gulfcoast Art Festival. Over 200 artisans will be displaying their creations: pottery, jewelry design, painting, woodworking, glass, sculptures, and more will be available. Other festival highlights include live music, food, performances by local dancers and folk groups, craft demos of traditional trade skills like blacksmithing and spinning in the Heritage Arts Area, and the Student Art Show. Visit Seville Square Park in Pensacola today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to enjoy the last day of this amazing Art Festival.
