Stephen King Film Looking for Extras

Love Stephen King? Always wanted to be an extra in a movie? Just looking for a fun, cheap experience? Then this might be for you!

Director Mike Flanagan is returning to south Alabama to film a new Stephen King movie, The Life of Chuck. “The Life of Chuck” tells the story of Charles Krantz life. The cast currently includes Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill. 

According to reporting from Gulf Coast Media,  the local booking agency says 1,000 extras are needed for the film in a range of ages from 11 years old and up. Two large crowd scenes are planned to be filmed in Baldwin County.

Amazing Grace Family Farm Fall Festival

Amazing Grace Family Farm Fall Festival is running periodically through October into November. Visit Green Cove Springs October 13-14, 20-21, 27-28, or Nov. 3-4 to enjoy the family-friendly festival. The festival activities include a crop maze, pumpkin patch, hula hoop games, a jump pad, corn crib, fall photo ops, and a chance to meet the farm’s animals. Northeast Florida Fair

The Northeast Florida Fair is comming to Callahan this week! From October 12-22, visit to enjoy Nassau County’s annual fair. The home site is in a largely rural area which means the fair has a full livestock show event calendar. Check out the Rabbit Showmanship, a Dairy Goat Show, Barnyard Olympics, Cattle Showmanship, a Market Animal Sale, and more. There is even an opprotunity for the youth to show off; local kids can enter their prize goats, lambs, and cattle in either the Pee Wee or Youth categories. Best of all? Jazz Festival on Amelia Island

The Amelia Island Jazz Festival is happening now! Until October 8th, there will be a celebration of themed performances and solo concerts. The festival is celebrating its 20th year and the festival headliners are appropriately celebratory: The Manhattan Transfer, a Grammy-winning vocal quartet in its 50th season, jazz flautist Nestor Torres and The Tierney Sutton Band. Sunland Center Fall Festival

Sunland Center’s 42nd Annual Fall Festival is less than a month away! Held on the historic grounds of the Sunland Center in Marianna, this festival features over 100 vendors offering a variety of food, crafts, arts, and activities. 2023 Oktoberfest at Downtown Panama City

The second annual Little Village Conch Festival is happening on September 30th! Come out to Little Village in Panama City for a day of family fun in the sun. Tallahassee Film Festival 2023

The 15th annual Tallahassee Film Festival is happening September 2-3 at multiple venues downtown and in the Railroad Square arts district. The event will feature over 70 films and scores, over 40 shorts, and a dozen feature films. The fest has partnered with Sunshine State Biodiversity for a curated short film program titled ‘Environment in Focus.’ Visitors can purchase a weekend pass OR tickets for individual screenings. FL Scallop, Music, & Arts Festival

Celebrate Labor Day weekend by feasting on freshly harvested St. Joseph’s Bay scallops with the ambiance of two days of live music. The Florida Scallop, Music, and Arts Festival is happening September 2-3 at George Core Park.

The festival lineup includes John Del Toro Richardson, Memphis Lightning, the Bo Spring Band, Damon Fowler, and more! The festival kicks off the Port St. Joe scallop season which runs from August 16 through September 24. If you have a fishing license, you can dive for your own dinner! Make sure to bring your mask, snorkeling gear, and eagle eyes because most finds are hidden in seagrasses in four to six feet of water.
