AUDITIONS: The Addams Family

Director Stephen Lott is hosting auditions for the Addams Family (showing March 17 – April 2, 2023). Auditions will be held January 16-18th. The show plot is as follows:

A comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

To prepare for the audition, prepare 16 – 24 bars (one verse and a chorus) of a song in musical theatre style. This is a tracked musical, so please prepare a tracked audition piece. There will be a speaker provided or you can bring your own (use karaoke or accompaniment tracks only). Choose a song that enhances and shows off your singing skills. You may also be asked to take part in movement or dance auditions where the choreographer will ask you to learn a few steps. No a capella auditions.
